1. Check the Power Supply and Electrical System

  • Confirm the power voltage matches the pump’s rated requirements.

  • Inspect cables, plugs, and terminals for loose or oxidized connections.

  • Check breakers and fuses for tripping or burnout; replace with matching parts.

  • Verify the motor wiring (Star/Delta) is correct and ensure overload relays are reset.

2. Check for Mechanical Blockage

  • Manually turn the pump shaft; it should rotate smoothly.

  • If it’s stuck, relieve pressure and open the pump casing to remove crystals, solids, or debris.

  • If rotation is heavy, inspect bearings, impeller-to-casing clearance, and the isolation sleeve.

  • Replace worn bearings or deformed parts.

3. Inspect Fluid Conditions and Installation

  • Make sure the fluid viscosity and temperature meet the pump’s design limits.

  • Fully open the inlet valve; adjust the outlet valve to avoid high starting pressure.

  • Check for air leaks in the suction line. Refill and vent the pump chamber to eliminate air lock.

  • Reduce suction lift if necessary.

4. Check Magnetic Coupling and Internal Components

  • If magnetic force feels weak, the magnet may be demagnetized—replace the magnetic assembly.

  • Inspect the isolation sleeve and impeller nut for damage or looseness.

  • Ensure the pump base is level and the alignment is accurate.

5. Review Operation and Pump Selection

  • Confirm the pump was fully primed—magnetic pumps must not run dry.

  • Check if actual head or viscosity exceeds the pump’s capability.

  • If the pump has been idle for long periods, clean internal parts and remove any solidified medium.
